President:
Represent ARCE-NE to members, ARCE National, and ARCE’s Chapter Council
Maintain records of office activities and business
Preside over all ARCE-NE meetings
Maintain the ARCE-NE email account
Contact and schedule speakers for ARCE-NE programs
Send letters of acknowledgment and thanks to speakers and program participants
Send letters of acknowledgment and thanks for special donations to ARCE-NE
Vice President:
Assume the office of President, and accept those duties, if required
Act as the President’s representative for ARCE or ARCE-NE functions when requested
Draft and distribute promotional materials for lecture programs via e-mail, social media, etc.
Make all arrangements for transportation, housing, and entertainment of speakers
Maintain a file of ARCE-NE programs and accompanying documentation
Maintain the ARCE-NE website, especially the Events page
Secretary:
Keep records and minutes of all Chapter meetings, Executive Committee meetings
Prepare and distribute reports of prior meetings
Maintain and update the membership records and electronic mailing list for ARCE-NE
Maintain an archive of ARCE-NE documents
Act as the President’s representative for ARCE-NE when requested
Send letters of acknowledgement (via ARCE-NE email account) to new and renewing members
Monitor the ARCE-NE e-mail account, responding or referring to the President, as appropriate
Treasurer:
Manage ARCE-NE funds
Maintain ARCE-NE bank account
Pay all bills associated with ARCE-NE events and activities
Report expenses to ARCE National on a regular basis
Present current financial report at all Chapter and Board meetings
Act as the President’s representative for ARCE-NE when requested
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors consists of up to ten (10) members, drawn from the affiliated members of ARCE-NE, four of which are ex officio positions for officers of ARCE-NE:
the ARCE-NE President
the ARCE-NE Vice President
the ARCE-NE Secretary
the ARCE-NE Treasurer
up to six (6) members not currently serving as an officer of ARCE-NE
The Board of Directors meets twice per year or as needed and shall have power to transact emergency business between scheduled meetings.
All Board Members:
Responsible for general oversight of the operations and the wellbeing of ARCE-NE
Assist in the maintenance and improvement of programming logistics, such as identifying potential speakers, locating new venues for events, and finding accommodations for visiting speakers, etc.
Develop strategies for the growth and development of ARCE-NE
Endeavor to identify and attract prospective future directors, officers, and members of ARCE-NE
Board Chair:
Preside over all meetings of the Board
Act as the official representative of the Board
Prepare all Board meeting agendas
Prepare or cause to be prepared all documentation and/or specific reports to be submitted to the National Organization (ARCE)
Terms of Office:
Board of Directors Members and ARCE-NE Officers hold their respective offices for a term of two years and may be re-elected to the same office for a second term. Election to a specific office for a third consecutive terms requires unanimous re-election.
